habits. levir is a very tactical and animated person. he’s physically affectionate, something that is common among his people, being free with his thoughts and outward expressions. He pats people’s backs, wraps an arm around their shoulder, bumps his shoulder against theirs, etc . . . it is not uncommon for him to gesture with his hands when speaking or to toy with whatever might be in them at that moment. he never sits with his back to a door or exit.
BIOGRAPHY.
The youngest of Harlaf, a chieftain among one of the clans of the northern reaches of the haunted forest, and Kalla's surviving children. his childhood could be considered to be standard, standard by free folk notions. Levir was born minutes after his twin sister Ylva and from their birth onwards, where Levir was Ylva was not far away. you rarely found one without the other. Although he loved all his siblings, his elder brother Thororn and sister Arna, and a younger sister whose name he never got to say, it was Ylva he was always closest to.The life of the free folk was built on survival, kinship, and the knowledge of the creatures and animals those beyond the wall told their kids of at night were more than mere stories. magic might be weak in the world and maybe non-existent to the south, but for those above the wall it is still known. Levir knows it well when his own mother was a skinchanger and healer among their people. Her warging abilities and earning her a notable degree of respect among them.From a young age a spear, an axe, a bow, had been placed in his and his siblings hands but in turn his mother made sure they knew the use of a variety of herbs. The remedies they could be made into and the poisons.A martial weapon of some kind or ranged weapon served him best when raiding or hunting but the use of herbs and concoctions were a knowledge that would help Levir later when life in his skin didn't feel quite right. There was, perhaps, not as much of a pushback or ridicule he faced when transitioning than some might think. Things were different beyond the wall for the most part ( at least among his own clan ). People were people, free folk or not, there were good and bad, friendly and utter assholes. He never minded shutting the mouths of the latter group, physically if needed.As he grew into a young man he continued to prove himself to be a formidable fighter and hunter. Quick, agile, light on his feet. Ferocious in a fight but out of it, the sound of his laughter carried on the wind.He still carried that same carefree and untamed nature even after the bear's teeth and claws tore into and pierced his flesh. He survived had he not? survived and brought down a bear and carried the scars across his body to show it --- now the name Levir Bearclaw fell from lips.

contains & follows events from season(s) 1 to 8. with canon divergences. not linear. can also be used for “pre-series” content.timeline notes: i approach each season of the show as being a year worth of events to try to make sense of the fuckery.
general canon divergence: the main canon divergence that relates to the events of s-8 and thereafter is that i do not follow the "mad queen" plot for daenerys. however, this is subject to change based on plotting.

there are two versions of this verse, one with inquisitor levir & one with him as a companion to the series' protags. generally, this verse tends to go along with the events of dragon age inquisition but can be adjusted for any point in the series with plotting.

BERSERKER.
a supernatural / mythical genre related verse. featuring levir as a berserker or bear-shifter; having the ability to shift into the form of a massive brown bear. suited to be added to both his main verse and modern verses.
MODERN.
The youngest of Harlaf and Kalla’s children, Levir was born in Norway to a family that had a large appreciation for the outdoors and continued norse pagan practices. When recalling his childhood, Levir spent most of his time outdoors. Whether it be family camping trips, climbing trees, or running around their family’s property barefoot. There are also countless stories told by his family that involve him attempting to bring home injured and baby animals. Considering their son’s love of the outdoors and animals, his parents would hardly be surprised with Levir’s future career path.A nearly deadly encounter with a bear in his teenage years that left him scarred, gave Levir new appreciation for life and left him with a desire to want to work with wildlife in conservation, rehabilitation, advocacy, and wildlife education. His love of the outdoors and own close encounter both marked the path that would lead to Levir deciding to attend university to study zoology and wildlife biology in order to work in the world of wildlife conservation.He now works at an animal sanctuary as an animal caretaker, rehabilitator, rescuer. His work also includes a good amount of community outreach and educational workshops.
